New Film “Reparando” Explores Theology of the Cross
Wednesday, September 15th, 2010
Once you start getting to know people who are suffering, you can’t help but wonder how to see God in their midst or how to explain Christ’s death on the cross as good news for them now. Joel Van Dyke, a missionary who works in Guatemala’s slums and prisons, helps urban missions graduate students flesh out [...]

It’s also how many Pakistanis became displaced when torrential monsoons unleashed the Indus River beyond its banks along the nation’s entire length. The mind shudders to comprehend the magnitude of help needed. Rather than resolve to not think about all those homeless hungry people, you can bring your distress [...]

The [...]

Smithsonian magazine on the preservation of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul
Tuesday, March 31st, 2009
I clipped this article a few months ago from Smithsonian magazine on the struggle to preserve the Hagia Sophia, the 1,500-year-old worship space in Istanbul. The Hagia Sophia was the place of which, according to legend, Prince Vladmir’s representatives said after attending an Eastern Orthodox worship service, “We did not know whether we were in [...]
