Reflections from ‘Church by the Bridge’ in Australia

From former CICW student assistant Kim Webster, who now lives and worships in Australia:

One of the most common questions I’ve gotten asked is about the differences I see between American churches and Australian churches. I must qualify immediately that, while my knowledge of American churches is vast and reasonably varied, my knowledge of Australian churches is based almost entirely on mine — Church by the Bridge. I absolutely love it, which is why I so rarely venture elsewhere, but consequently my assertions may not be as, well, well-rounded as they could be.

    As someone who ministers in both countries, I possibly have a valid opinion on worship. Americans, in my experience, are very welcoming and usually quite open to worship. In Australia (I’m and Aussie) we tend to be a bit more cynical, especially in the country, but very sincere. I love both countries, and both styles of worship.
