Stephanie Spellers served as Project Director for the 2008 grant awarded to The Crossing. Visiting with her in the Cathedral located in downtown Boston helped me realize the multiple ways the church serves the people of this city. Four services are held each week. On Sunday morning the traditional congregation gathers. The Korean congregation worships on Sunday afternoon. On Monday worship and meals are offered for people who live on the streets surrounding the cathedral. Thursday evenings those who seek a non-traditional time of worship gather at the Crossing. Stephanie explained that “The Groove” which describes worship at The Crossing continues to grow both at the Cathedral and in other locations. Stephanie and her leadership team are frequently invited to teach in numerous other congregations. Through these experiences, she observes, the leaders themselves are growing in their skills and abilities as leaders.

We give thanks for the work of renewal that continues beyond the grant year.
