Project Director Bruce Epperly and Daryl Hollinger met with me to reflect on the 2008 Worship Renewal Grant project. Lancaster Theological Seminary had offered training and resources to musicians and pastors of churches that typically attract less than 75 participants. A question that guided their work was, “What types of worship renewal will be most effective in transforming communities of faith?”

A pilot group of eight congregations explored ways to embody new and creative forms of worship and overcome feelings of scarcity and inadequacy. Together we discussed the renewal that is continuing in the congregations and ways that the Seminary might continue to provide resources and encouragement for them.
