Learning Opportunity this Summer: 'The Art of Conducting'

The Art of Conducting: A Workshop for Music Educators
Music Department faculty Dr. Tiffany Engle, Dr. Joel Navarro, and Prof. Robert Nordling will lead a graduate level conducting workshop this summer. Class sessions will focus on further development of participants’ ability to conduct bands, orchestras, and choirs. This class will meet July 6-10 from 9:00am-3:00pm with a lunch break from noon to 1:00pm. All participants will receive feedback on their conducting through video-taped comments, live coaching, and peer discussion. Topics will include conducting techniques, score preparation, and rehearsal/teaching strategies.
Tuition for the five day workshop is $530.00. Participants will earn two graduate credits through the Calvin Graduate Program in Teacher Education. To register for the workshop, fill out the Graduate and Undergraduate Guest Application form(pdf) and return it to
